In the Beginning
Astronomer Doug Duncan has been hosting eclipse tours for over 2 decades, and chasing eclipses for even longer. Bulky and expensive equipment is typically used to capture these celestial wonders. One day he thought, there must be a better way. Enter: Solar Snap.
Prototyping
Through constant iteration, Doug came up with a simple, elegant solution: all that’s needed is a camera filter and an app. Enter: a collaboration with Rise Up Games.
Solar Snap App
The Solar Snap app quickly took shape, was immediately validated on its inaugural run, and has now evolved into a complete Solar Eclipse companion, including an interactive map, live eclipse guides, and of course, the camera experience itself. Solar Snap is the best way to capture the eclipse
